Hank and Ishy Palma organized the very first reunion of AFAITC instructors in San Antonio. It was a casual affair, but people had fun and that was the main thing. There was even a home-cooked breakfast!

Talk evolved to organizing the reunions on a more formal basis. Someone suggested inviting the British exchange officers and the idea grew. Soon, a two-year schedule was devised and every fourth reunion would be hosted by the Brits. A tradition is born!
